To Abraham Hayward, essayist and translator : 1 autograph letter signed : 23 Mar 1849 : (MISC 3511) : begins, "Do not forget to let me have Neate's pamphlet on the Benchers which you promised me ..." ; mentions having read Hayward's article on Mr. Dyce Sombre, and announces his own near-death state (though he lived for another nine years).
